Our client, McCain Foods, has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and talented Accountant to join their Finance team. This permanent full time position offers long term career prospects, plenty of variety and the opportunity to work in a close knit team where initiative and commitment is rewarded.

A key focus of this role will be performing detailed analysis of financial data and company results, making recommendations in regard to appropriate courses of action and building strategic alliances. Other major responsibilities of this role will include:

·         Establishing and maintaining internal accounting controls, policies and procedures

·         Monitoring and reporting on budget to actual expenses

·         Undertaking budgeting and financial forecasting in line with the strategic direction of the company

·         Maintaining the General Ledger including accurate balancing, reconciliations and accruals

·         Ensuring Taxation and Statutory requirements  and reporting is adhered to

·         Assisting with business reporting and monthly financial reporting (profit & loss, cash flow)

To be successful in this role you will have proven expertise in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment. With exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, you will be deadline driven, confident working under pressure and will have the ability to develop strong working relationships with all business units. Tertiary qualifications in Accounting are essential and candidates currently studying towards or who are CPA qualified are encouraged to apply.
